STEP 1. SELECTING LANGUAGES
Choose languages from the list into which you want to translate your Online Store.
LangShop supports Shopify translation API. Depending on your Shopify plan, you can add two up to five different languages to your Online Store. To check further details regarding Shopify plans and the number of languages you can add to your store, please refer to Shopify Help Center or get in touch with Shopify Support.
If you run an Online Store on a Shopify Plus plan, you can add up to twenty different languages to your website. Click next to proceed to the next step.
STEP 2. SELECTING CURRENCIES
LangShop allows merchants to add new currencies. There is no limitation on how many currencies you want to display at your storefront.
This step is optional. You can skip it if you do not need currencies for your Online Store.
Click next.
STEP 3. TRANSLATING STORE DATA
LangShop provides you with information about categories that will participate in the translation process. By default, the app translates all data in the store. You can manually uncheck the boxes of those categories that you prefer not to translate. When you are ready to start, click next to complete the installation.
WELCOME TO LANGSHOP DASHBOARD
WAIT WHILE TRANSLATING
Here, you can manage or add new languages, edit your content, order professional translations, use pro drivers, customize currency selectors, display recommendation banners, and much more!
There is a spinning bar at the top right showing percentages and how much time is left for translations to complete in the background.
The time always depends on the amount of data and the number of languages you add to the store.
LangShop is a partner-friendly app that gives you full access to app settings for free while developing a store. For live plans, LangShop offers a 14-day trial period. When the trial expires, there comes a 34$ charge per monthly subscription. The app fee will reflect in your Shopify billing cycle.
While LangShop is translating the store, take a look at your storefront.
Steps:
From your LangShop admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Current theme.
Each theme has a new Localization
button now. With the help of this button, you can translate static text, dynamics, locale files, checkout information, system messages, theme settings files that contain homepage data you customize in the theme editor.
Click Actions > Preview.
Both language and currency selectors will display at your storefront. However, they are not visible to customers. By default, the buttons are visible for admins only. Before you can publish the selectors, you can customize them in LangShop settings to match your store design.
Also, there is a recommendation banner (on top of a screen) where customers can select their preferred language. Plus, they can check product prices in different currencies. These recommendations are also visible for Admins only. If you would like to publish a recommendation alert and selectors, go back to LangShop admin.
PUBLISH SELECTORS
When the translation process is complete, you can publish the selectors. Click on the link Manage selectors.
At the left sidebar menu, there are Recommendations, Language & Currency Selectors. By default, all the buttons have a visible status for Admin only.
To publish the Recommendation alert, you need to change the status from Admin only
to Published
. Save changes. To publish Language & Currency Selectors and make them visible to international customers, click on a Selector №1 > SELECTOR STATUS > Published > Save.
CHANGING MONEY FORMATS
If you decide to add new currencies to your online store, you need to edit money formats for LangShop to convert prices correctly. Click on the link edit money formats that will redirect you to Shopify Settings > Store Currency.
Replace the existing formats with given span tags for the HTML with and without currency. Make sure to save changes and refresh the Home page in LangShop.
The checkout will display the default currency set in your Online Store. If you would like to enable a multi-currency checkout, LangShop recommends enabling Shopify Payments. Langshop currency button is fully compatible with this feature.
You are ready to introduce your multilingual store to international customers. Good luck!
