After the LangShop installation, you need to complete two steps to be able to enter the app dashboard and create a multilingual store.
Step 1. Languages selection
Select additional languages that you would like to display in your store. LangShop supports 241 languages, but according to the Shopify translation API policy, you can add 5 languages to your online store. If you are a Shopify Plus merchant, you can add 20 targeted languages.
Step 2. What do you want to translate?
Choose categories of objects that will be translated automatically into the selected language(s). We recommend you enable all of them. Thereby, your store will be ready for work on the foreign market. After auto-translation, you will be able to edit text content manually.
After you complete installation, LangShop will start the translation process in the background on the server. The app uses several translation drivers such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, and others that help faster complete all the tasks. While the system is translating your store, take a moment to learn the LangShop interface.
On your Home page, you will find the most important information about your store's current status. The first alert tells to Translate a theme. By default, the app translates current themes, however, it requires some time to create a new theme. LangShop will duplicate a copy of the original theme and will work with it in the future. When LangShop translated your theme, you can preview or publish it.
In the preview mode, you can check the content for every language selected. LangShop gives you full access to edit your data manually and replace automatic translations with your variants. Besides, you may submit orders to a professional translation TextMaster agency through the app interface.
Once you are ready to publish the LangShop theme, open your Home page and click on the alert Publish theme -> Publish. When you do this, the translated content, switchers, and other LangShop features will be available for your visitors.
LangShop allows adding multiple currencies to your online store. From your Home page, open Go to the currencies settings, the link will redirect you to LangShop Currencies Settings, where you can add currencies.
There might appear a yellow pop-up window that needs your attention.
The link brings you back to the Home page, there will be Edit money formats caution. To activate LangShop Currencies, you need to replace the existing formats to given span classes for the HTML with currency and HTML without currency in your Shopify Settings.
Under the warning on your Home page, there is a link Edit money formats, you will get redirected to Shopify Settings -> General -> Store Currency. Click on Change formatting and paste the span class tags given in LangShop to the appropriate fields. Make sure to save changes and refresh the app dashboard. After these manipulations, you will enable LangShop Currencies and conversion rates.
Move to live
The final alert reminds of switching between Shopify Plans. LangShop is a partner-friendly app that gives you full access to app settings while developing a store at no additional costs. For live plans, LangShop provides a 14-day trial period, upon its expiration there comes a $34.00 charge per monthly subscription.
Good job! You've set a multilingual store! Now your translated content is visible for international customers.
