LangShop allows set up automatic currency redirects. You can display Euro, the official currency, for customers from European countries. Otherwise, link each currency you manage in your Online Store to a browser language.
From your LangShop admin, go to the Settings > Currencies > Mapping.
LangShop offers three types of currency detection:
- Store currency
- Browser language
- Visitor country
1. Store currency
When customers visit your website for the first time, they look at your store currency which is set by default in LangShop Mapping. You can find your store currency in Shopify Settings, go to General section > Store currency. This information is also available in Langshop Settings > Currencies > Store currency.
2. Browser language
You can redirect visitors automatically to the currency by linking it to browser specific language.
Select browser language detection type. You can add or remove browser languages from the default list that connects to each currency (dropdown list).
For example, customers who have Spanish browser language will get automatically redirected to Euro currency, if browser language is English (Great Britain), visitors will see prices in Pound Sterling.
3. Visitor country
Another option to redirect customers automatically is to enable visitor country detection type. LangShop mapping feature allows redirect customers automatically using geo IP detection.
When customers visit your store for the first time from Australia, they can browse your online store in Australian dollar (AUD).
Langshop currency is not available at the checkout page unless you enable Shopify Payments feature that gives merchants the ability to pay in multiple currencies. Langshop currency button is fully compatible with this feature.
Select visitor country detection type. You can add more countries to the default list of countries and link them to each currency you have in your store. Save changes.
If you want to stop using currency redirects, open LangShop Settings > Currencies > Mapping > Store currency > Save.
