If you manage a multilingual store on Shopify, you might probably think of displaying different product or collection images for additional languages. LangShop can translate product images, collection images, and blog images. It means media files for the primary language can differ from the media you decide to add for another version.
Shopify merchants can translate all data in the original theme except images and tags. Please refer to the Shopify Help Center to check what resource types and fields are currently available for translations.
When you start translating your shop product images, for example, in the Debut theme, the following alert pops up under the product images section.
Unfortunately, Shopify does not have a native functionality translating or changing images (alternative text). If you want tomake your media files visible in other versions, then you need to create a LangShop theme first.
- From your LangShop admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Select a theme.
- Click Actions > Create localized.
Please wait for the task to complete in the background server. LangShop will create a copy of your original theme and rename it to LangShop | Debut (example name).
When the translation process is complete, you can update Products, Collections, or Blog Posts sections, translate images into multiple languages, and update your storefront details.
